White Panther's Story

Hannah here, and this is the story of my superhero, the White Panther.

Hana is a biologist working in a government zoo. She does research on animal DNA to find out more about animal's abilities that humans do not have, like lizards with regeneration abilities, she's under a team that is trying to see if they can harvest this ability and apply to humans for medical purposes. What she doesn't know is that there is a deeper agenda to this research that she is unaware of. The head of the team is only told to do research on the animals in the zoo and Hana only follows her superior's orders.

One night, Hana is alone in the lab. She is the last one to leave because she has to clear the samples and return the equipment to their proper places. As she is carrying a tray of animal DNA samples into the freezer room, she feels someone push her and she falls along with the tray. The samples break and the glass of the test tubes cut her on her arm. She gets up to clean herself but what she doesn't know is that the DNA of a panther has entered her blood stream.

Over the next few weeks, Hana realises that she has an increasing craving for meat, she is suddenly more aware of her surroundings, being more alert and jumpy. She feels uneasy as well as she doesn't know whats happening to her. One day, she walks past the panther exhibit. She looks in and sees the zoo's pride, a beautiful white panther. She catches eye contact with it and suddenly everything comes to her in a rush. She rather unconciously makes her way into the panther's habitat and it comes down from it's perch on the tree to meet her. It behaves completely docile and even affectionate.

Hana goes home and that night, she thinks hard and figures that the DNA must have gotten inside her body. That is not where everything ends though, she notices physical changes to her body. When she finds a bump at the end of her spine, she starts to panic because she realises that she is growing a tail : she is turning into a panther. Her hair also starts to grow white from the roots.

She calls in sick from work and stays home to try and think of what to do. She turns on the TV one day, and switches to the news channel. She gets a big shock. The government seems to have released a special army unit which, like her, have inhuman strengths matching those of different animals. Hana realises that her team of biologists were actually unknowingly researching this experiment the government has decided to conduct.

As confused as she is, she realises that when she fell that time, she was actually pushed. Hana decides from there to find out who pushed he as it must have meant something. So when she starts snooping around and finding more information, she uncovers more secrets about the government's plan for this army. From there, her real adventure begins.
